Issues with MyFitnessPal

Finally got my new FitBit Charge HR connected to MyFitnessPal and realized that the syncing has changed. I used to log into MFP and see my total calorie count from FitBit, however, it was now syncing the other way and exercise I logged into MFP were now overwriting what I had in FitBit, which is STUPID. I stopped logging in MFP, thinking it would sync properly, but it never happened (for two days). As soon as I logged a walk into MFP, it showed up in FitBit. Why on earth would MFP overwrite my actual exercise recorded on FitBit?

So, I am trying to disconnect the two because that is dumb. I have "disconnected" about 10x from MFP on my iPhone and probably half a dozen times on my computer and that didn't work. I also went into FitBit and revoked access for MFP within my FitBit Account - but this morning I synced and somehow, a 25 minute walk I recorded in MFP is showing up in my FitBit exercises. I also still have entries showing up from MFP when I "search" for activities. For example, I entered 2 hours of gardening in MFP last week, and when I searched for gardening in FitBit this morning, it found two entries - one called "Gardening" and another that was marked "Gardening - MyFitnessPal" - I do NOT want those showing up anymore.

Why is this so difficult to disconnect, and why doesn't it work like it used to? At the end of the day, I want all my calories spent synced TO MyFitnessPal, not the other way around.

How do I disconnect the two? It is incredibly dumb to sync from MFP

@sundrop71 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Fitbit will sync steps, calories, and Aria measurements to MFP.

MyFitnessPal will sync logged foods and activities to Fitbit. That is why you see those entries. If you stop logging activities from MFP, you will stop seeing double entries.

I recommend logging the activities using Fitbit only. Use MFP to log food as the food database from MFP is very complete and great.

The only way to disconnect them is to revoke the access from the Fitbit account, as you did previously.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy
