Connected GPS, sadly, is pretty poor in the Fitbit App (Android 7.0)...between odd tracking data even with the keep alive widget going, to losing tracking for no reason, to canceling tracking when bluetooth is out of range for a minute, to the connected gps crashing, to not having as detailed tracking for miles/speed biking as Strava.
That said, I'd like to use the Fitbit HR data in Strava and the only way to do that is to use the unreliable and less than accurate connected GPS data as well from Fitbit. Barring a great turnaround in Connected GPS so it's on par with Strava, this needs to be resolved.
What I'd like to see...
1. A way to start in the tracker/watch to record a ride/run/swim, but this in turn would start Strava recording this activity and use the trackers HR data. If bluetooth is connected and in range. If started in Strava, Strava should also be able to see the Fitbit HR data, and notify the tracker/watch that an activity is in session so HR data can be improved per how FitBit trackers/watches work.
2. Again the reason #1 needs to be included is because HR data is a lot more accurate when Fitbit knows it's recording an activity.
3. Activity can then be stopped on the Fitbit tracker/watch if bluetooth is connected, or in Strava.
4. Any loss of bluetooth connection WILL NOT stop the phone from tracking which is what happens now with the FitBit connected GPS feature.
All this is necessary because of how poor the connected GPS feature is on the FitBit app. After over a year off seeing this fail over and over again despite playing around with different permutations of keep alive, all day sync, or always connected I have no faith this will ever be fixed. And even if it was, then it would need to be able to track second by second details as well and accurately as Strava does.
Fitbit needs a way to allow you to tell it to track HR data more accurately because you are running/biking/swimming, but to allow Strava to track the GPS data, and then sync both of these up and allow them to be put on Strava and synced to Fitbit, or vice versa.
The current solution of using Strava and losing HR data in Strava and syncing the activity to Fitbit but without GPS data or FitBit knowing it should track more detailed HR OR using the poor FitBit Connected GPS feature to correctly track HR, but do a awful job of tracking location and continuing to track without crashing or losing bluetooth and then passing accurate HR, but poor GPS data to Strava just ISN'T WORKING.

I entered it there and it was promptly moved to the bottom of an "answered" thread. I guess I have my answer on whether anything will ever be done about something that should be a higher priority than it is. Time to look at competing products like Garmin to see if they integrate better

Hello @Saganist.
Thanks for sharing your feedback on the matter.
Please do know that if an app is listed as Not Currently Planned it doesn't mean that we no longer monitor it and that supporting the suggestion is still valuable. Maybe you could vote for that suggestion it was moved into to show that you'd like to see it implemented.
Feel free to reach out if you need any assistance.
