Logging an activity in Fitbit vs Runkeeper

I have a fit bit force, I use run keeper and MyFitnessPal. When logging activity in run keeper should I also use the activity button on my force during the activity? I have tried using the button on the fit bit to record the activity and then afterwords logging the activity in run keeper manually using the exact same time that I pushed the button. I know the calories get overridden by the imported run keeper activity.

I guess I'm wondering if I even need to push the button on the fit bit to record an activity at all?

You shouldn't need to start an activity record (pushing and holding the button on the Force) in order for your run to sync data from your Fitbit to RunKeeper.

The only reason I can see that you'd need to start an activity record is if you want specific information from that specific run (distance, steps, duration of the run).

I thought I had to push button in order for fitbit not to double count calories?
