MFP logged food not showing on Fitbit

Hello Fitbit Users! I'm new to the fitbit flex and I'm still getting acquainted with my new device. My question for the expert users here is with regards to myfitnesspal. Am I only to log food and exercise journal to either or & not both? I'm noticing duplicate workouts in my dashboard on fitbit. I've been logging my food journal and workouts to both because I notice when I do log in my dashboard, it doesn't show up in my fitness acct. & vice versa. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

I really enjoy using MFP to log food. I only log food on MFP and the calorie amount is transferred to my dashboard. I never enter food on the dashboard. I never enter activities on MFP, only on the dashboard. This system has helped me lose about 20 pounds in a little over three months.

Note, there has been one time that lasted three days last week where calories burned did not transfer from the dashboard tho MFP. Hiccups like that will make it harder to understand how to optimize the two platforms.
