MFP overstating calories burned

Upon getting out of bed this morning and visiting my MFP site, it appears that I burned off an extra 106 calories walking from the bedroom to the bathroom and back, a total of about 15 feet. I weigh 113 pounds and walking 5K at a brisk pace burns off an average of 200 calories at best. I've been using the Fitbit One for 14 months now and did have this issue when my birthdate went to 01/01/1970. In view of this, I've checked my birthdate for accuracy everyday now and it's correct at 04/1946 however the calories burned showing in MFP are greatly overstated. I've tried revoking access from both and reinstalling to no avail. I can deal with the Fitbit One App being extremely wonky lately but would like to be able to rely on the computer data being accurate or at least close to accurate. I am fortunate to know roughly my calorie burn but starting the day with an extra 106 calories, or about 10% of my daily intake allowance doesn't help me maintain my weight which is hard enough to do as it is.

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I did notice that there are differences in calorie stated between MFP and Firbit. Each system follows different theory to compute calories burnt.

I use MPF for logging my intake and leave Firbit to compute in vs. burnt. Not sure if it is the best thing to do but that is the procedure I follow.
