MapMyFitness - where's my data??

I've recently got a Charge HR and synced it with my MapMyFitness account. It says it syncs but I can't find the data in MapMyFitness. Anyone know where it is?

@Jhoop2002 A warm welcome to the Community! Fitbit will sync distance and calories burned to MapMyFitness, you can see this by going to MapMyFitness > My Dashboard scroll down and you should be able to see it there. Also, MapMyFitness data won't sync to Fitbit.

Hope this helps Smiley Happy

Well that's a giant bummer (along with the non-existent integration to Apple health).

I was really hoping that the workouts recorded in Fitbit would transfer to MapMyFitness.

@Jhoop2002 Thanks for your feedback! Currently, the activities that you manually log in your Dashboard aren't going to sync to MapMyFitness. However, you don't need to log all the activities just the ones that require more than just steps like tennis or yoga because this will improve the amount of calories that you're going to get.

Any idea that you may have, you can post it in our Ideas Board because these suggestions are viewed directly by our engineers and developers and the best of this is that people can vote for them.

Hope to see your ideas on the board soon.

Yea, it's impossible to see that. MapMyFitness counts steps automatically (even on iPhone 5) so how can you see the data imported by Fitbit?

I honestly don't think it's importing anything. My perception is Fitbit only places nice with Fitbit.

@Jhoop2002 The data that Fitbit imports to MapMyFitness will appear in "My Dashboard" section at MapMyFitness account. Also, you may want to check the list of apps that will sync to Fitbit, each one will sync a different thing.

Thank you so much for your feedback.

I logged into the website (which I shouldn't have too) and the data is not in my dashboard.

I've had my fitbit for almost a month and its been synced with MapMyFitness for almost a month.  However, there are days on my dashboard that don't have any steps.

So the sync doesn't work.  Are you sure you aren't confusing MapMyFitness with MyFitnessPal?

Welcome to the Community! I apologize for the late reply. Robot Happy This is very strange @Jhoop2002 since you need to sync your Fitbit data first in order for that information to transfer to MApMyFitness. Here is how it works:

  • Data will sync from Fitbit to MapMyFitness programs. MapMyFitness activity doesn't sync to Fitbit.
  • MapMyFitness programs include MapMyRun, MapMyHike, MapMyRide, and MapMyWalk
  • Upon registration, 1 month of Fitbit Data will sync over
  • MapMyFitness account will be updated each time Fitbit syncs
What Syncs?
Fitbit > Distance > MapMyFitness apps
Fitbit > Calories > MapMyFitness apps

Are you still experiencing this issue?

I recently purchased a fitbit HR and the data is not syncing with my mapmyride app. The 2 accounts are synced but it is just displing "0" on the mapmyride app for the steps and distance. I have removed the sync and resynced the two devices but still no data is transferring. Can you tell me where to go from here to get the two apps to sync?

Thank you for joining this thread @tperry030. Well, if you have already tried to unlink and relink the two accounts, I believe that this issue is coming from MapMyRide, so my recommendation is to also get in touch with them so they can confirm this. I'll send a report as well.

Any other questions or comments, feel free to post back.

Hi Melissa, seems this is related to my question so thought I would continue this thread. I want to be able to record an activity in my surge but have the activity sync to mapmyfitness as that is where I am linked to many friends in a workout group. I bought the surge for HR really but as the surge will not work as a straight HR monitor for other apps I figured it would sync the activity across so atleast mapmyfitness would log I did a workout of some description. Problem is that a workout doesn't show up mapmyfitness. Are there any plans to add this functionality? Or even better allow the HR functionality as a HR monitor the other apps can use?

Agree disappointed to get a surge for Christmas and find that it will not sync exercise GPS,HR,time data to MMF
Got the product as I felt it was strong but have used other apps and being stuck with Fitbit interface is very restrictive
