I have my Fitbit One syncing to MyFitnessPal. I also have the MyFitnessPal Negative Calorie Adjustments Enabled.
I am really confused on how this works.
For example, today I went to the gym and logged working on the Elliptical for 30 minutes and burning 350 calories as shown on the Elliptical LCD panel. Then I logged walking on the Treadmill for 30 minutes and burning 350 calories as shown on the Treadmill LCD panel. This totals 700 calories. For each exercise I entered the start time, 30 minute duration and the 350 calories into MyFitness
Pal Cardio Exercise.
Fitbit synced with MyFitness several times today and at the end of the day (11pm when I am typing this) under Cardio Exercise MyFitnessPal shows a "Fitbit calories adjustment" (based on my measured activity) of -259 calories. My daily calorie Goal in MyFitnessPal is 1200 calories and the Fitbit app on my iPhone says that I have burned 2840 calories today.
I have read about the Negative Calorie Adjustment in the MyFitnessPal website Help section but I am still confused. I don't understand if Fitbit says I burned 2840 calories today why that number doesn't appear in MyFitnessPal instead of the -259 calories for the Fitbit calories adjustment.
I would really like to understand. Can someone please give me an "easy" explanation?
Should I Disable the Fitbit Negative Calorie Adjustment in MyFitnessPal? Thanks, Bill

@Bill_A It will be my pleasure to answer your inquiry!
If you click on the "Exclamation mark" of Fitbit Calorie adjustment. You'll see what's your goal on Fitbit and in MyFitnessPal below the Fitbit Calories burned you'll see in small letters how many calories you've burned in Fitbit and base on that you'll see a calorie adjustment. Which as you saw it, it could be positive or negative. Positive: means that the amount of calories burn for the day in Fitbit is greater than MFP's estimate. Negative: means that calories burn that you have in Fitbit is lower than MFP's estimate.
If you were seeing -259 this indicates that the amount of calories burn in Fitbit were less than MFP. I'd recommend leaving negative adjustments off if you don't sync your device until night. If you leave it on it's because you sync your tracker various times at day

@lisahaveman You'll see the Exclamation mark by going to MFP > click on Exercise > Below Cardiovascular you'll see Fitbit Calorie adjustment next to it should be the exclamation mark.
Have a great weekend.

So are negative adjustments a bad thing? Or should this number be in the positive?

It's great to have you here @Shell_Bell! If you have a negative adjustment this means that your calories burn from Fitbit are lower than MFP's estimate. This would mean that you're not doing too many steps (or exercise) with your tracker.
You can learn more about this calorie adjustment by checking this post.
Hope this clarifies your doubt.

I turned this negative calorie adjustment on, and now I can't figure out how to turn it off. I've tried to do as the instructions say on both my mobile and PC. Please advise. Thanks!
