Hello,
It appears that only my runs ever sync with Strava. Bike rides do not. Also workouts but I care less about those. Any guidance on fixing this ? I am using a charge 2.
Thank you.

All GPS tracked activities should sync with Strava.
So
@Mindgrep being not GPS based it is by design/bug that workouts are not synced with Strava. Are bike ride tracked with GPS or autorecognized? if the latter then they don't contain GPS data hence not synced
@FireOtter I understand that your walks and treks are not tracked with GPS hence the issue of lack of syncing.

Same regarding walk and trekking. They do not sync to strava. I also noticed they do not save any trace on fitbit if it can help troubleshooting.

@SunsetRunner thank you for the response 👍🏽 I think you might have hit the nail on the head 🏆 I guess Strava expects GPS info in the synced data, and rejects any activities do not have that info. This is further substantiated by the fact that even my runs (some of them) that are missing GPS data - do not get synced with Strava. I did not realize that autorecognized activities on charge2 do not get GPS data (but it makes sense in retrospect - since the GPS data comes from my phone - and that needs a manual cue to start tracking location). I will validate this theory further by enforcing GPS tracking on my bike rides via the charge2 button press to start and stop the bike ride.

@Mindgrep Strava deals well with data containing no GPS at all. The problem is that Fitbit doesn't generate anything to be exported when GPS doesn't connect or you use non-GPS activity. If you go to the Dashboard and try to export the TCX file, you will see that for both cases the file comes empty. TCX however can be absolutely valid without GPS coordinates and still provide other data. It's Fitbit choice not to do so. I believe, lack of TCX file is directly connected to the fact that Fitbit doesn't share non-GPS and GPS(when not connected) activities to Strava. I have no issues with sharing my non-GPS activities from other platforms like Suunto or Garmin. Moreover, when I test HR on Sense like here I generate a TCX file for Fitbit data myself using my custom tools. Such TCX would be perfectly fine if I wanted to upload it into Strava. Fitbit made a very strange design decision and for some reason decided to stick with it forever.

Hi,
So is it to consider it's a normal behavior that Fitbit charge 2 does not track any GPS coordinates for trecks, walks and bike rides ? But it does for runs ?
If correct, that seems like a weird choice in design imho 🙂

@FireOtter no, Strava sync and tracking with GPS are two different things. You should be able to track with GPS Bike and Walk, too. Run it from Exercise on the watch (don't rely on autorecognition, this will not enable GPS). Make sure GPS connects first. Charge 2 has only "connected GPS" on implemented so requires mobile phone around. In case connection couldn'tbe established it will still proceed but you will have no map.
