I was able to chat with a support specialist on my AARP Medicare Advantage site. He gave me the following instructions to link my Renew Active benefit to my Charge 5:
To sync your Fitbit with Renew Rewards please follow these steps:
1) Log into your online account (UHC Medicare)
2) Click on the HEALTH AND WELLNESS tab
3) Click GET REWARDED in the RENEW REWARDS box on the right hand side of the screen
4) If you have not already done so, click YES to agree to the terms and conditions. Click I AGREE.
5) Scroll down to the STEP ACTIVITY and click on VIEW DETAILS
6) Click GET STARTED
7) Click the appropriate device/app listed on the page
😎 Click CONTINUE. You will then continue with the device/app log in
Fitbit Instructions:
1) Enter the Fitbit login credentials
2) Click LOG IN
3) Click ALLOW to continue. Once the Fitbit is liked, you will see a box pop up stating the link was successful.
I don't see the group yet, however, Derrick said it's probably a matter of my FitBit and Renew Active actually synching.

Hi @GrammaDragon what doesn't work? Have you gotten with AARP or United HealthCare about this?

I have the same problem. Instructions for signing up for Premium on the AARP UHC renew active site do not work. Cannot find how to sign up. I have an A-number required for renew active, I have the Fitbit mobile app and using the desktop app on my laptop to sign up for Premium. The AARP instructions say to go to Communities at the bottom (that works) then go to Groups at the top. There is not a "Groups" option at the top or anywhere that I can find but it's supposed to be under a "closed groups" section, also not seen. Under that "closed groups" page, we're supposed to click on "renew active." So, the instructions don't work and there is no other apparent way to sign up for renew active and receive the Premium benefit.

I can't tell you how, but at some point the "Renew Active" designation showed up on my fitbit ap on my phone and on line. Plus I appear to have access to the premium. I also noticed that my stats are now showing up on my UHC wellness account. So while the instructions are somehow not correct, keep clicking around and see if you don't end up with the proper connection and the premium access. I'm sorry that I can't explain exactly what I did, because I honestly gave up with I wrote this post, shut it all down and "walked away" obviously frustrated. Few days later, there it was.

I am trying to find the Renew Active group using first the Fitbit UHC webpage and then using the above instruction in the mobile app. I too have a code beginning with A, which doesn't work on the website AND I am unable to locate the Renew Active group in the closed group section - there are only 2 listed on my app and no way to search for Renew Active anywhere in the mobile app. What do I do now?

Thanks for the algorithm, suelegal! I was one step away from throwing away the bracelet, haha.
-------------
My first bracelet was Mi Smart Band 5, which I got from my brother. Before that, I went in for sports following the instructions of the coach. But as it turned out, the functionality of the fitness tracker is very addictive. And it’s so addictive that you first buy a more expensive and high-quality Charge 5, and then sign up for a premium subscription. When I saw that I was having problems with synchronization, my first thought was to return the tracker to the store. What is the point of changing trackers if bracelets of different price segments have the same problems??? And then the knowledge gained in the psychology training program at miami.asa.edu helped me calm down, and I thought of coming here 🙂 Thank you, everything works fine now.

This may have worked in the past, but it didn't work for me despite several different tries. I never found a page with the text "GET REWARDED", though I successfully found the HEALTH AND WELLNESS tab. The Fitbit tech support guy pointed me to an unpublished URL, where you input member number, zip, and birth year, but that didn't work either. Prior to coming here, I spent a long time being passed around from one person at UHC to another, none of whom were at all knowledgeable about this program. Two of them spoke broken English, and one of them suggesting setting up a new Fitbit account even though I have had this one for 10 years. By the end, both UHC and Google/Fitbit were referring me to the other.
I'd like to have the Premium service that comes with the UHC Renew Active program, but at some point, it's just not worth the time and effort to struggle with it.

I am having the same problem with UHC Renew Active and trying to get Fitbit premium. UHC support had me try several things nothing worked. I have a Fitbit Charge 4 with an iphone 14. Fitbit never did ask me for my claim code and when I click Fitbit premium it tries to sell me a trial. Any advice would be appreciated. UHC has given up and wants me to contact Fitbit support. Thank you!

I have spoken with both Fitbit/Google and UHC, but each of them points to the other. I have been working with Fitbit and am sending them a set of screen shots that show the path from the start to nowhere. It's going to take some engineering work to make it possible for UHC Renew Active users to find the Renew Active community on Fitbit and then enter the code. If I learn anything useful or am able to make it work, I will post a followup message here.

I have a support case open with Fitbit. So far nothing has been successful in onboarding UHC Renew Active to Fitbit Premium. Today, I changed my Fitbit login from the standard login over to login using my Google account. Using the UHC iphone app I select Fitbit Premuim but when it flows over to Fitbit I keep getting an Oh-oh bad url page.

Finally I did get this resolved on my own!
1. I switched my fitbit login over to google account login
2. Using a Google Chromebook for the following steps
3. Login into UHC retiree.uhc.com
4. Now I opened another browser tab and brought up fitbit.com website logging in with my google account
5. Now go back to the UHC website and click "copy claim code" select Online Fitness ,Fitbit Premium
6. This time it worked. At one point during onboarding I had a blank white screen. Just clicking refresh in upper right corner resolved the problem.
7. The url already had my claim code embedded in it. I did not have to enter it.
8. "Welcome to Renew Active" from the fitbit onboarding site. "Activate membership"
9. On my Fitbit iphone14 app, I went to groups and "Renew Active" under closed groups appeared.
10. Now finally I have Fitbit Premium.

fyi. for other people not being able to link their AARP membership to their fitbit account, I tried following the links on the AARP website with two different browsers (Brave and Edge) and could never get it to the webpage where you actually link the two accounts (AARP renew active and fitbit). I called AARP customer service. They couldn't help me. They transferred me to fitbit customer service who had me transfer my Fitbit email account to my google account. And then I tried to use the AARP website to link the two accounts again. That still didn't work. Finally I tried one last time using the Google Chrome browser (instead of the Brave or Edge browsers) and I was able to get to the webpage on the AARP website where I could link my AARP account (using the code) to the Fitbit account (which had just been transferred to Google). When I went back into the fitbit app, the renew active had been added and I had fitbit premium.
So....I'm not sure what actually fixed it....it was either 1) transferring my fitbit account to google or 2) logging into the aarp website with the google chrome browser or 3) both. It took me a couple of hours to do all this and I was pretty much close to giving up at that point. There is definitely something wrong with the AARP website in that it doesn't consistently send you to the page where you can link your aarp renew active account to the fitbit account. It shouldn't make a difference as to whether your fitbit account is through google or you own email.....and it shouldn't matter which browser you use. It's not a fitbit problem....it's an AARP problem.

Agree - you do need to move your account to Google for it to work.
