Runkeeper to Fitbit

I've had my runkeeper synced with fitbit for years, but it doesn't seem to do anything on either end.

I would like my runkeeper activity to be added to my fitbit activity.

Tonight I disabled access to fitbit from runkeeper than relinked again.  I do not see any activities from today so I'm assuming it didn't work.

Sync Runkeeper to MFP and MFP to Fitbit. Do not sync Runkeeper to Fitbit. You won't get all data from Runkeeper, but you'll get an activity that you can manually correct the time to include seconds (MFP rounds to the minute) and add the distance.

Hello @Morphia ! It's great to have you here in the community. - Your Runkeeper data doesn't sync to Fitbit. And Fitbit syncs your calories and your sleep records to Runkeeper, perhaps this may be the reason why you don't see any information. If you have an additional question don't hesitate to ask me here. Smiley Wink

Unfortunately it didn't work.  MyfitnessPal is definitely receiving my Runkeeper info.   Fitbit is not connected to runkeeper, only connected to  MFP and LoseIt.  Both LoseIt and MFP are receiving my Runkeeper data without problems.

Best Answer

Try disconnecting it from either LoseIt or MFP. Otherwise, both apps might try to feed the info and cancel it out. Also, make sure MFP and LooseIt are not connected to each other.

Haha, well, prior to posting this question I never had MFP connected to Runkeeper because I hate MFP.  I love LoseIt. I hate  Fitbit's food database. Sooo. I use Loseit to track my calories and set goals, etc.  I was just wanting to make sure Fitbit knows when I'm using Runkeeper so my data doesn't double up in LoseIt... I supposed that's not a real problem anyway since Fitbit and Loseit have a huge discrepancy as to what my basal metabolism is... so I never actually see a fitbit adjustment beyond zero anyway.

But you may have a point... if I disconnect Runkeeper from loseit, then maybe, just maybe Fitbit will receive the data properly. But then again, an earlier reply in this thread suggests that Fitbit doesn't read data from Runkeeper. But Runkeeper reads data from Fitbit.

Oy.. so confusing.

@MorphiaThanks for your update! If you link MyFitnessPal with Fitbit, you should see your food entries and activities logged from MyFitnessPal appearing on your Fitbit Log.

I highly recommend that you contact MyFitnessPal support here and confirm whether or not they can sync data from RunKeeper and if they work as bridge between RunKeeper and Fitbit.

Regarding Lose It! and the calorie adjustment. If your Fitbit adjustment is at 0 it means that Lose It! hast not made any calorie adjustment for you. You can read more hereLet me know if you have any additional questions, okay? Smiley Wink

Thanks but this is going in a completely different direction from my original question.

I have an account with MyFitnessPal but I do not use it because I don't like it.  I prefer to use Lose It to track my food intake and Runkeeper for my walks and my workouts, which automatically show up in my Lose It exercise log.

I understand about the Fitbit adjustment of Zero.  Lose It thinks I burn 2700 calories a day and fitbit thinks I burn 900 less than that. So despite the fact that I'm very active and walk for 50 minutes a day briskly plus do yoga every other day and bootcamp every other day I will never have more than 0 fitbit adjustment. I understand that and this question is not about that at all.

I just would love for my Runkeeper data to show up within my Fitbit activity.  If that option was available I would then disconnect Runkeeper from Lose it and just have Fitbit connected to Lose It.

It would appear that's not an option available at the moment.

@Morphia So far, Runkeeper data doesn't sync to Fitbit. Perhaps you could contact Lose It! support and confirm whether or not they can sync data from RunKeeper and if they work as bridge between RunKeeper and Fitbit. Like it was suggested with MyFitnessPal.

And you can vote for this idea: Sync distance between Fitbit and Runkeeper in our Feature Requests forum. This is a great place to get the attention of Fitbit's developers. :smileywink:

This should be something fitbit does natively - sync to and from runkeeper.  I'm dissapointed that we users have to try and figure it out ourselves.  This is FITBIT's job!!

I, too am having the same issue.  All I want is my running stats sent to runkeeper after I go running.   Does fitbit ever chime into these forums?  I can't even find a support link to ask a direct question.  We're doing their job for them.  For the prices we pay for these devices I expect far better support.

Fitbit blames Runkeeper and Runkeeper blames Fitbit for the lack of syncing data bidirectionally. The problem likely lies in the middle. No, Fitbit rarely comments on these issues except to say, "Fitbit has an open API and it's up to the third party to pull data; talk to them."
