Skating activities tracked by Pixel Watch do not sync to Strava

I am a long time Strava user and a new Pixel Watch with Fitbit user. I linked my accounts using the official Fitbit/Strava integration and found that my bike activities sync over fine, but my skating activities ("rollerblading"/inline skating and skating/ice skating) do not. I have searched the forums and documentation and found over and over again that all GPS activities (which these are) are supposed to sync over, and Strava supports both of these skating activities. Why isn't it working?

For what it's worth, I can export the TCX file and import it into Strava as a workaround, but that is not a sustainable option and not the level of integration I was expecting when I purchased the Pixel Watch.

Does you GPS even work while using the "Skating" exercise on the Pixel Watch? Because mine won't connect at all. I was told by Google support it was a glitch in the Fitness app. GPS works with other exercise though, like Outside workout and running. I hope Fitbit fixes this GPS issue with Skating.
