Hi there....

Ok, so I have the Charge HR and everything is paired fine with the app however I also use MyFitnessPal and I have so many issues with the numbers just not matching up, so perhaps someone can explain a few things before I give up and return the FitBit.

First off, I understand that in Fitbit and in MFP I can set fitness goals, which I have done. I have set my own weight and that I want to lose 1kg a week.

MFP gives me at the start of the day my calorie allowance and Fitbit carries on calculating something which doesnt resemble this number at all but thats ok, I dont mind if its being clever and working over the day to give a running allowance, thats fine but when it doesnt make sense by the evening then it just feels pointless using it.

I know that FB creates an adjustment when adding excercise to MFP which seems such a weird way to do things. After all, I imagine for most users they want to see an allowance that they can have to eat, Fitbit is very confusing and even when the numbers do match, give it a few minutes and they wont again.

After adding a few numbers up I can deduce that Fitbit is doubling up the reduction, so I have I set this up wrong? should both apps have the target goals? or just one? Seems to me that if I manually add 500 callories to my daily goal (so set a manual goal of 1700 calories in MFP) I get roughly 2 calories out in FB. Why would I need to do this? surely something is just not right with the calorie counting or the way that it is being shown in the apps. One app is wrong and one is right and MFP is simple. Is there a way for fitbit to just be simple like MFP?

I have read other peoples posts about this and they all say the same, its confusing and convaluted and for a device that cost a bit of money, I would expect a simple execution in its use, not having to do mathmatics at 9pm to see if I can have another drink.

Also, lastly, why oh why does Fitbit decide that when I enter 80kg as my target goal does it change it to 79.9? That isnt what I typed in.

If no one has the answers then thats ok, I just need to know if these two apps can actually talk to each other properly or I should return the fitbit and stick with MFP as this is easy to use.

Thanks and sorry for the long post.

Stephanie.

***Update:

Im returning the FitBit.

Pointless as it tracks steps even when I am not walking. Nearly 100 in half an hour and im not even doing much moving and I just read an article of people putting on weight after using it and sticking with the calorie counter and yes, its set to the non-predominant hand.

When I checked the 'How acurate is fitbit' it states a few extra is negligable over a day. 2400 and counting every day isnt negligable, its just wrong.

My advice, stick with the basic apps and dont worry about stuff like this unless you need it for motivation, just ignore the calorie numbers.
