Spotify and Google Play Music notifications turning on randomly

I've had my Fitbit Blaze since December and about 2-3 times a week notifications for the apps Spotify and Google Play Music will turn themselves on, enabling notifications every time the song changes. I go in, turn notifications for those two apps off, close the app, go back in, and they're still off. Then, two or three days later, I'll start getting those notifications again. Anyone have any idea how to get these to stop turning themselves back on?
