Strava Fitbit Integration Wiping Out Data

I have noticed recently that when I am recording via Strava (because my Fitbit will NOT acquire GPS Signal) and wearing my Fitbit Iconic that my Active minutes on my dashboard are getting reset to whatever they were before I started my recording. However my Activity minutes show on Fitbit with the information synced from Strava. Also after the sync my step count is also reduced.

For instance, tonight before I went on my walk I had 9 minutes of activity from daily activities. I went on a 56 minute walk in which I met my daily step goal of 7500 steps. When I got home and synced everything back up My Activities List shows a 56 minute walk but my active minutes only shows 9 and my step count was reduced to 7300 steps. Clicking on the activity shows that I was on a 56 minute walk, but it added 0 minutes to my 9 existing active minutes for the day.

Also saw this same thing happen on 5/24 when my Fitbit recorded and congratulated me for walking 20k steps (and earning the badge) on a multi hour walk (202 minutes)however after everything synced up my step count was reduced to just over 19k and my active minutes were  49.

Sorry @Eagle1 it is doing what you are telling Fitbit to do.

By using Strava you are manually adding an event to your Fitbit account.

This manual addition ignores any data the tracker recorded for the time of the event.

@Rich_Laue Then what is the point of integrating the two (and publicizing this integration)? If I sync from Fitbit to Strava Fitbit sends all of the missing info to Strava, So if it is able to send the information correctly, it should also be able to receive the information correctly. Also, if I manually enter an exercise Fitbit automatically collects and records all of this information.  This to me sounds like a BUG on Fitbit's side.

I'm not sure what your saying.

Fitbit treats any data from a third party app as of you manually added the data after the event.

I don't under stand what sending data has to do with receiving data.

@Rich_Laue  If it's successfully able to send exercise data TO Strava, it should be able to successfully RECEIVE that SAME data FROM Strava.  Kinda like talking on a telephone, if you can hear someone speaking, they should also be able to hear you speaking....otherwise what's the point??
