Syncing MyFitnessPal and getting double exercise entries

Good evening,

When I sync my charge 2 with MyFitnessPal and log a workout on both apps, I notice that my Fitbit app includes BOTH of the workouts. For example, doing my elliptical routine it tells me I burn 340 calories. I log the same routine into MyFitnessPal and it tells me about 450.  The problem is that Fitbit logs BOTH of these numbers and tells me I burned upwards of 700 calories during my exercise, which is faulty!  How do I correct this?

When you use 2 Apps to track exercise it usually will create double entries. If the Internet Accounts for each system (or the Apps for each system) is properly linked, they will feed the exercise to the other. Each sees it as a different source. I do this also only because I use another exercise App that I really like and it interface to more systems, so I continue to use it. The FitBit is automatic, so I can’t tell it to ignore activity that I am tracking with another App. The question you have to ask yourself is what you are trying to accomplish and if manually logging then why?

If you are manually logging in both. Stop. Otherwise:
  - You could choose to un-link the accounts.
  - Or manually delete the extra routines in the Activity tracking section.

Thanks for the response!  I like to keep both apps because I log my food in MyFitnessPal.  I like that it transfers that data over.  I'll just manually delete the additional exercise information in the Fitbit app.

I also use MyFitnessPal as I believe the interface for Food is better. But why are you manually entering exercise in MyFitnessPal? Are you not waiting long enough for it to sync automatically from FitBit?

I manually delete duplicate entires for another App but that is because of the interface to other objects.

You should not have to delete duplicate entries because of MyFitnessPal.

Oddly enough, while the food is transferred to FitBit, my exercise is NOT being transferred from FitBit  to MyFitnessPal.  It seems to only be going one way.

Was this issue ever resolved for you? I have the same issue. I manually delete the workout from the Fitbit app that came from MFP.

I have a similar issue, but I am not manually logging anything in MyFitnessPal. I only log my activities using my Fitbit, but sometimes the activity shows up twice in my Fitbit dashboard with MFP as the source. It's not a huge deal at this point as I am only exploring what the different apps offer, but it seems odd. I also noticed that most activities from my Fitbit are not showing up in MFP.
