Wondering whether there is a way to receive notifications from BOTH WhatsApp and SMS Or do I have to choose one? Would be great to get my texts from both platforms!

Sorry, but you can only use one SMS app at a time for notifications. I would use the regular SMS app as you probably won't receive a notification from WhatsApp if it came over a wifi connection.
