Which one should I use, Fitbit or Myfitness pal?

Is it best to use both? I have always used MFP up until I got my fit bit. Now I have been logging everything into my fitbit dash. I feel MFP has more options but find it a pain to log both areas. I dont completely understand how or why my calories change and my 1200 raises after I exercise. I wont loose any pounds if I follow that. I am interested in regulating my blood sugars for type 2 diabetes. I am just kind of spending too much time logging or so I feel. I have synced the two sites. I get that I dont have to log food into FB if I have in MFP. I am wondering if I should just be concentrating more on the FB dash and not integrate the two....any opinions?

Hello @JudieGail, it's nice to have new faces in the Fitbit Community! I totally understand you, as it might be tricky to use both accounts. Your food log in your Fitbit account is a great tool; but if you combined MFP with your Fitbit account you can get more of it.

Many users, including myself prefer to use MFP exclusively for food log and Fitbit for exercise and other activities. If you follow this practice, keep in mind you don't need to log your entries in both accounts, since this may cause duplicate numbers in your calories.

So, the best is to log the food in MFP and the integration will take care of sharing this data as a summary in your Fitbit Dashboard.

Sometimes you may see fluctuations on your calories, however you can easily fix this by following the directions from this post: MyFitnessPal: How to correct calorie discrepancy from MFP to Fitbit.

However, Is up to you the decision, with any of your accounts you have incredible tools to track your calories and food, so is just to decide which app is more comfortable for you to use to reach your goals.

For any other concern you can find me here. Stay awesome!

I agree with Roberto,

I'm also a Diabetic and uses MFP and FB for years, MFP for the Food and FB for exercise.

Works great for me.

Sinds 6 months now, I'm a diabetic and I'm using the App BGLpredict for managing my BGL.

Hope this can help you too.

Cheers Mayco
