I started as a MyFitnessPal user for food and exercise tracker with A Garmin heart rate monitor. Then added Flex to give me credit for steps all day. I manually entered exercises and had to wear a band around my chest so I was so happy that Fitbit charge2 came along. Not until using it did I realize that Fitbit sends a total calorie burn to MFP and not any announcements to the newsfeed. My friends on MFP don't get to see my activity unless I add it in myself. So when I tried to manually add it into MFP, it doubled the exercise on the.FitBit account! So although I would love to say I burned all those calories, it's cheating myself in the end. By the way, my husband's and my sister's Polar automatically Posts workouts to MFP and I don't get the satisfaction of posting my killer workout. I didn't realize how much that bothers me but as your Fitbit Dashboard says, there's nothing wrong with a little healthy competition to get you motivated!

I agree. I understand why they chose to commit to a single place where all the calories are represented. However, it does kinda suck that means your excercise activities from Fitbit don't get posted to your wall.
I don't really miss it per se, but it's a nice way to get positive feedback from the MFP community. Have you considered posting it as a feature suggestion?

Fitbit is trying to please very user from people who barely work out but may need encouragement to get up and walk around more to the workout fanatic. It seems like it could be achieved by some sort of setting in the user profile. I see it was updated in the MFP newsfeed when I updated my weight in Fitbit.

Yes, weight does show up in the MFP newsfeed. Why exercise is not added to the newsfeed most likely has to do with the way they are handling fitbit burned calories on MFP. When you exercise with your fitbit, the activity is not saved as an individual exercise on MFP, but instead is added to the general expenditure under the fitbit stepcounter. Since it not seen as exercise by MFP, a newsfeed wall is not created. To make it work, the syncing software needs to be changed, so that a newsfeed post is created when an activity is tracked on fitbit.
