fitbit and LFconnect/3rd party apps

Hi, I'm just confused about the synchronisation of my fitbit charge and 3rd party software, such as LFconnect which is on the equipment in my gym and can send information from workouts onto my dashboard.

I'm confused about when you, for example, walk on a treadmill and fitbit counts your steps/distance/calories etc., which is also tracked on the actual gym equipment. The gym equipment (using LFconnect) sends the information of the workout to the fitbit dashboard, but is this added on to what the fitbit tracked about the workout? Like the fitbit calculates the workout stats and sends them to my app dashboard, but the stats from the gym equpiment are sent to the fitbit app also. Does this mean two entires of information are being added to the fitbit app, like I'm getting two entires of calories/distance etc., for one workout?

Thank you for any help.

Hello @AndyWeth welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here 🙂 If you are using both your tracker and the LFconnect app, Fitbit will overwrite one of the activities and log only one to improve the accuracy of your calorie count. You can review your activity log just to verify only one record has been made.

Let me know if you have more questions. I'll be around! 🙂
