how to log running miles and steps?

Yesterday I ran 6.4 miles, it logged it as active minutes because it synced with My RunKeeper & MyfitnessPal apps. However, it did not count the steps or miles?

How do I make it include steps and miles and not just active minutes?

@kyliesmylie1 I apologize for the delayed reply.  Please make sure that your Fitbit is syncing to your Dashboard because the reason why it didn't show any steps or miles in your Dashboard could be that it wasn't syncing. Any activity that's step based shouldn't be log in your Dashboard because your tracker was made for that.
