Im new to this! I have the fir bit app on my phone with is synced to my fitness pal and uses the apple health to count steps. When im horse riding i log the activity on my fitness pal and would like to know if there is anyway to log the horse riding but not the steps as im obviously not taking any! When i buy a fit bit is there also anyway of it not logging steps if im riding/cycling/weight lifting etc?

If you don't wear it, it won't log steps.
Also, if you have a non-step related activity, you can create a manual activity and it will overwrite the calories burned from any steps you obtained.

Welcome to the forums @ljg86! As @MakMak mentioned, if you don't have a tracker to detect the steps, only a manual log will suffice.
In this case it is best to create a manual log to focus on your caloric burn, rather than the step count. I know you still burn calories while you ride, this is why our friends over at Sparkepeople have a Calorie Calculator for Horseback Riding. ![]()
