Alexa won't register with my Versa 4 after switching phones

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got a new Galaxy s25+ phone and now Alexa will not register with my Fitbit Versa4. I try and enable it through the app like so, but keep getting error message "unable to connect to Amazon account, please try again." I've logged out of both apps and logged in again, uninstalled the Alexa app on my phone and reinstalled it, but nothing works. I really don't want to reset my Fitbit back to factory settings if I can avoid it. Any suggestions?

Hi @Shanie474 Thanks for stopping by, I hope you're doing well.

Let me help you install your voice assistant in your new mobile. I appreciate you have tried some steps prior posting in the community.

If you receive a message similar to "Unable to connect to Amazon account, please try again", please try to clear the cookies on your phone: For Android phones, see support.google.com.

Then, try again to set up Alexa in the Fitbit app.

I tried this step delete data and clear cache from the chrome app on my
phone. I then tried to set up Alexa in the Fitbit app. Did not work, still
getting the error message. Any other ideas?

Hi @Shanie474, thank you for your response and for having followed my suggestions.

Please ensure your fitbit app is up to date (4.36). To update your Fitbit app, follow the instructions in our help article How do I use the Fitbit app? below the section "How do I update the Fitbit app?".

Keep in mind that you need to run Android 10 or higher on your mobile to ensure the best performance of the Fitbit app.

Hi again. The app is up to date, and I repeated the steps for Alexa and it
still does not work. Maybe the software is just not compatible with the
software on Galaxy S25+ with AI. I'm getting to the point where it's not
even worth it anymore to mess with it. I can't even use Alexa on the new
phone without problems.

Hi @Shanie474, thank you for your response. I'm sorry to hear you are finding trouble to setup your voice assistant.

Our technology is compatible with Android. Ensure your mobile runs Android 10 or higher.

It seems that you have already an Amazon account. Please confirm if you were able to follow the steps below:

1. Go to http://alexa.amazon.com
2. Sign-in to your amazon account
3. Find the Fitbit Skill.
4. Click or tap Enable.
5. Log in using your Fitbit account credentials and give permission for the Alexa app to access your profile and data.

On the app follow these steps:

- From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > your Versa 4.
- Tap Amazon Alexa > Login with Amazon.
- Tap Get Started.
- Log in to your Amazon account or create one if necessary.

Read about what Alexa can do, and tap Close to return to your device settings in the Fitbit app.

I'm still getting the error message. The Alexa app on my phone says my
Versa4 is enabled, but my Versa4 is still unable to connect with my Amazon
account.
