Changing Registered Fitbit

As I have given up on trying to get my old fitbit watch which appears broken, I have factory reset my wife's Versa 4 and am trying to connect it to my fitbit app.

However, when I press I agree on the app I get the message an unexpected error occurred.  Is there a way to resolve this?
