Fitbit App unable to move to Google

Hello. Hoping someone can give me some help with switching my Fitbit account to Google please as I’m going round in circles. 
First time I got the message to switch on the Fitbit app I clicked to move account and got the message that I had a child account linked to mine (years old - no longer in use) which had to be moved first. So I did this, but now I can’t move my actual account as it says that Google account is already in use. I’ve tried to delete the child account but it says I have to pass it to the parent (I AM the parent!). So basically if I log into the Fitbit app I can see my own data, if I log in through google I can’t because it just takes me to this no longer used child’s Fitbit which it won’t let me delete. 
any advise would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I'm sorry to hear that you are unable to complete the migration to Google.  I appreciate all the information provided. 

In this case, since a Google account was created, it is necessary to migrate using a new email address, please follow the steps in the help article to complete your migration: How to move your Fitbit Account to a Google Account
