Fitbit Versa 4 blanks out

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Lately my Fitbit Versa 4 has started to blank out.  When this happens I am forced to hook it up the charger.  Initially it seems to reboot and finally it gives me a charged status which is usually higher than 50%.  If I let it charge for awhile it works again but then will blank out indiscriminately.

Hey there @Treborbor, welcome to the Fitbit Community.

Thank you for taking the time to troubleshoot your device. I'd be glad to help from here.

To begin, I suggest checking for any available firmware updates for your device. Please visit this link and follow the steps provided.

Hi Edwardo. I have version 20001.184.52. Is that the most recent firmware? If not please let me know how to check the version and/or update it.

Hey there @Treborbor, thanks for letting me know that.

The most current version of the Fitbit app is 20001.210.26. You should see a red banner at the top of the app, something like this:

Yeah, mine as well, I was able to turn it on, and got it set up, updated no problem (v. 61.20001.194.86)   and then it shuts off whenever it seems to go into the screen saver. I can turn it on without it being connected to the charger if that makes a difference, (read some other issues where it had to be connected).

This link does not go to a picture so I can’t see what you are talking about.

Mine is just a blank screen.  No lights and only vibrates.  Same version.  Will not sync and doesn't turn on.  Only vibrates.  Not to happy being it's my replacement to have the same issue.

Hey everyone, hope you're doing well!

I understand the situation and I'd try to be more specific, @Treborbor @A.J.Garnett, please follow the following instructions:

Before you begin the firmware update, charge your device and confirm you have the latest version of the Fitbit app installed on your phone or tablet. Note the following:

  • If you update your device at midnight (when your step count resets) you may see an inaccurate step count for 24 hours.
  • Updates may take up to an hour or more to complete.
  • Let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone, which allows a small portion of the firmware update to download to your Fitbit device each time your device syncs

To update your device:

  1. With your charged Fitbit device nearby, open the Fitbit app.
  2. Tap the Today tab EstuardoFitbit_0-1739928228408.png>

     Devices EstuardoFitbit_2-1739928228443.png> your device image.
  3. Tap the pink Update button. This option only appears if an update is available.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions and keep the device close to your phone, tablet, or computer during the update. After you start the update, a progress bar appears on your device and in the Fitbit app until the update is complete.
