Why can't Fitbit provide an automatic sleep feature for all its watches instead of having it as an. additional item that's payable?

Hi @ESPL - you dont have to pay anything to get sleep measurements for each night.

If you aren't getting the information there is something else wrong. Maybe your watch is not syncing or you don't have enough uninterrupted sleep.

Hi there, @ESPL. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums.

As @Guy_ has mentioned, you do not need to pay in order to get the sleep feature. For more information, please see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?

Nevertheless, please note there are some sleep features you can get if you're a Fitbit Premium subscriber. To get more information, take a look at this help article What should I know about Fitbit Premium?

@N8teGee Thanks for trying to help!

Thanks Guy, but the sales rep specifically warned me that the sleep tracking function on my new Versa 4  will cease  after 6 months UNLESS I opt for the Fitbit Premium feature - which means paying a fee! And the Luxe version definitely does not have sleep tracking feature automatically - you have to pay in advance. My Versa 4 is definitely well-synced with my iPhone.

Dear N8teGee,

it's the usual number of hours you have slept, broken down into awake, REM, light and deep sleep.

Dear MarreFitbit,

Are you saying that ALL Fitbit wrist watches (including  the LUXE range) have ab automatic sleep tracking function, without charge?

If so, all distributors must be made aware of it and inform their customers accordingly.

Hi MarreFitbit

As Fitbit Moderator, your confirmation that ALL Fitbit watches have an automatic sleep tracking feature  will go a long way in my decision to purchase any  Fitbit watches in future. As I had mentioned in my earlier posts, I was specifically told by the Fitbit distributor, an ins-store section of one of the largest retail department stores in Singapore, that the Luxe range does NOT have a free sleep tracking function. I checked around, and indeed, most other smart watches have a free sleep tracking feature  (built-in).

Many thanks

@N8teGee @Guy_ , Thank you for your help .

@ESPL , Thank you for your reply and feedback.

There seems to be a misunderstanding from the sales representative of that store.

It depends, on the model, but most  wrist worn Fitbit devices, (with heart rate recording), do record your sleep and sleep stages.

As mentioned by N8teGee, MarreFitbit, and Guy_ , the sleep record will be received if all requirements are met, and can be seen with the normal free app.

Premium will give you access to additional information, that is optional, and only for those who want it and want to enhance their Fitbit experience.

More about this, can be read, on the articles shared by @MarreFitbit
