How can it be that Versa 4 doesn't have Google Assistant?

I own a Versa 3 and it does everything I needed until the mic stopped working, which then crippled Google Assistant, Snore Detection, and on-wrist call taking.

My Versa 3 is out of warranty of course, so the best Fitbit did was offer a 35% discount code. I was thinking of using the discount on another Versa 3, but that model isn't available on Fitbit.com  currently: just the 2 & the 4.

I compared features and that brings me to to subject of this post: how is it that my Versa 3 has on-wrist Bluetooth calls and Google Assistant while the new Versa 4 does not?

The call taking feature specifies 'Coming soon' (although why it would not be available out of the box is anyone's guess) at least, but not the Google Assistant.

it is a question that can only be answered by Google/Fitbit product management. There are many missing features from the Versa 4 which we would like to have, but so far Google/Fitbit is silent on them. There is a Feature/Suggestion forum that they do monitor, so suggest going there to request features you would like to see.

"How can it be?"  That's probably a question to be asking the upper level designers at Fitbit/Google, not something we basic user would know.  But some might speculate it's to help differentiate the new Google Pixel Watch from the Fitbit line.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

If I have access to those designers, I'm unaware of it.  Hoping possibly a Fitbit employee or moderator on this board might pass my question along to the folks in the know, hence my post.

You could be right about differentiation via feature availability, but that would be a shame: it's all one big Google family at this point.

I also compared my Versa 3 with the Pixel Watch and we surprised to discover all the features that the Pixel Watch lacks by comparison, and what a steep price hike.

I'll a Pixel phone fan and have had most of the main models (not the 'a' series) plus all three of the main model Pixel Buds.  I was eagerly awaiting the Pixel Watch, but am disappointed at that price and lack of features.
