As per the description of your post, it sounds like you already have a Fitbit account, don't you? Being that the case, please note your friends should be on your Fitbit account already. For more information, see How do I connect with friends on Fitbit?

@Tooties48 friends are connected to your Fitbit account, not your tracker. 

I see you joined in 2017 and probably had a bunch of friends, that slowly disappeared. Currently you will only see friends that are logged in the way you are logged in. If you log in with your email, you will only see friends logged in with their email. Log in with Google, you'll only see friends logged in with Google.
