I need some feature clarification regarding Versa 4

I am considering buying the Versa 4 (since it actually has a reasonable battery life) as an upgrade to my 2yr old Charge 4 (which isn't holding battery anymore, and doesn't have enough smart features for my current use). However, I am looking to clarify a few things from people who currently own the Versa 4:

  1. Calendar: Is there an 'agenda' or 'calendar-lite' app like there is on the charge 4. On Fitbit's feature compare, I know the full-blown google calendar isn't on the fitbit, but if there is at least a way to see the upcoming days events, that would suffice
  2. Temperature Watch Face: Is there a watch face (even a 3rd party one) that has the current outdoor temperature? Swiping to the weather app isn't sufficient; this is information that I want at a glance. My wife's versa 2 has such a watch face; I wanted to verify that is possible on the Versa 4
  3. Battery Life: How is the Versa 4 in battery life, especially if utilizing the phone's GPS and with AOD turned off?
  4. Times and Alarms: Does the Versa 4 still have on-wrist apps for timers, stopwatch, and alarms?

Thank you in advance for your answers! This would be incredibly helpful as I'd rather know for sure on these items before ordering.

I’ve only had mine a few days so far, but here is my take on your q’s…

1. No agenda, though I hope that they do add it ASAP. I agree it is an important feature.

2. No idea as I only use the default watch face. Even if it was available it would have to get the data from the same weather source as the app.

3. First, the V4 only uses its internal GPS (so far as a request has been made for an option to use the phones). My watch was charged to 100% on Friday, it is now Tuesday afternoon and I have 50% still left. I’ve used the GPS twice for two 1.5 hour walks.

4. Yes. Stopwatch, timers, and alarms, are on the watch.

I upgraded from my V2 and I do miss the agenda and 3rd party apps like world time and Starbucks. Hopefully they make them available soon.

This is very helpful.

  1. Extremely disappointing that there is no agenda at all (why wouldn't i want to lift my wrist and see what my next event is?)
  2. I would be curious about the watch face options. Does the Fitbit Versa 4 at least have a working weather app?
  3. So the V4 ONLY uses the internal GPS at all times? Weird. Although based on your results, they've got some intelligent utilization of it, and the experience you have is what I would want
  4. Good to hear about the timers/stopwatch/alamrs

Yes, the lack of 3rd party apps is concerning, although currently I have none on my charge 4 either. World time and more NFC integration would be nice; I will certainly wait for Google Wallet to be live before purchasing.

PSB…

1. Agreed. The more that go to the “feature suggestion” forum and vote for adding an agenda app, the greater likelihood it will be added.

2. The weather app works fine. A bit quirky as it mixes 12- and 24-hour time, but no complaints on the way it is displayed. There is a problem with the Fitbit app integration to the weather app on the watch, but it does eventually sync additional cities properly.

3. Once you get GPS lock for the first time it has worked well for me. I’ve only done 10K walks and 15mile bike rides, but the accuracy has been +/- 0.1 miles compared to my phone GPS.

4. For sure. That would be a deal breaker for me if it didn’t work.

I’m not a Googler, more of a Greygler, so don’t care personally about Google Wallet. I do understand some prefer it over Fitbit Pay, so hopefully it will get added soon as well.

Ill definitely go and vote on the agenda feature. Good to know the weather app works 'ok' but I'd like to see some improvement there too. Glad the GPS seems to be working well and not draining your battery.

For me, I'm trying to minimize the number of places where I have my credit card stored. I . already using it for Google pay/nfc on my phone, so having it on my watch would be nicer.

Great information and details; much appreciated
