Life span of a Versa 4

My Versa 4 is 7 years old, just recently started draining the battery quickly. Like it doesn’t even last a day. Is it a goner?

@Grenius   Fitbit released the Versa 4 in September 2022.  If you have a different model that is 7 years old, then that can be the typical lifespan of a rechargeable battery.  Can you share more details?

Hi @Grenius - you probably have a Versa original with 3 buttons?

A normal battery degradation occurs after charging, where battery level falls quite quickly and then slower.

Use a clock face which shows battery level and performance to get a better understanding, such as SimpleClockPro, which does both to get an accurate estimate of battery life.

It records in the logs data about charging and battery levels so you can record details more accurately.

You will also notice it's takes longer to reach the estimated full charge time when the battery is aging, particularly the last 1%.

It's possible the watch has suffered water damage as it is discharging so rapidly, make sure it doesn't get hot when charging.

You can also try a restart, change of clock face, turning off Bluetooth, to see if it has an effect on battery life.

You can also try a rest test.

Charge it to 60% only, put it in sleep mode and place it face down with straps out of the way, somewhere where it can't detect movement so the lights don't flash and turn off Bluetooth.

Leave it for 4 hours, check battery level. Anything around 50% or more is good, much below the watch possibly has a fault.

A normal aging battery should still only consume around 1% per hour in that condition.
