Low battery notifications Versa 4

How do I get notifications on my Versa 4 when the battery is low? Currently I only get a notification when it’s 4% left and different functions is being turned off. On my previous Versa I could see when the battery was running low (20%) and charge it, but now with the late notifications I find myself walking around with a dead Fitbit on my wrist every now and then. I’ve tried to find a clock face that shows battery level but can’t find any

Hi @Jojohannan - you are right there are limited clock faces available for the Versa 4, I use SimpleClockPro but that isn't available on the 4.

However in the Fitbit App click profile photo and Notifications, there you can define both push and emails notifications for low battery,

Thanks @Guy_ , then I know that I haven’t missed anything on the watch. I have the notifications on in the app but I find it insane that the fourth version of the watch can’t provide the information itself and that I need to carry around a second device to get a notification 🙃 To me, notifying a user of a low battery and risk of having the device shutting down is a basic function to ensure the user can use the device without interruption. The code is obviously already the there, Fitbit could just change the threshold from 4% to 20%.

I've been getting a notification when battery gets to 35% regardless of clock face. And I swear there used to be a way of changing the level you want get a notification..

@Jojohannan - there are a couple of other things to also check, pull down on the watch face to get to Quick Settings and make sure that all the icons are off. To ensure you can get notifications on the watch and not just on the phone.

In the Fitbit App click profile photo and device photo and Notifications and also inside, App notifications to make sure you receive notifications  from the Fitbit App and for email notifications.

Then as @scd5280 says you should receive low battery warnings at 35% for this watch, for older watches with bigger batteries it was 25%.

I've not seen anywhere this level can be modified.

This is where SimpleClockPro was good as you get a warning on the watch regardless for each 1% fall below 17% so you can't miss it, at an average 16% usage per day it gives you a day to take action.

The 35% notification sounds like what I’m looking for, but don’t receive.

@scd5280 Do you get the notification on your watch? If so, do you know where to enable it?

@Guy_ I have all notifications enabled but I have never received any low battery notification on my watch except the 4% warning where various functions are being turned off.

@Jojohannan - that 4% warning is not a notification, just a warning. Check the syncing and setup as described to get the notification.

@Guy_ Just to be clear - the notification you are talking about, is that on the watch or the app & email notifications you mentioned earlier? I’m only interested in getting a notification on my watch. I don’t want to carry around a second device to get notified on a low battery. Just as I don’t want to check my email or watch to see if my iPhone needs to be charged.

@Jojohannan - if the phone is not nearby the Fitbit App has no way of knowing the watch battery level or be able to issue or send notifications.

@Guy_ I hear you and I understand that in order to receive notifications from the mobile app I need to have my phone nearby. I realize I might be using the wrong terminology when I say I want a notification on my watch. So let me rephrase it - how can I see or get a warning/notification/indication/heads up about the battery running low directly on my watch without swiping, touching or taking any other action on the watch?

I don’t find anything in the watch settings or any clock face that will indicate a low battery, except the 4% warning message which is a bit too late for me.

@Jojohannan- unfortunately there isn't anything.

If you can't find a clock face that does what you need from the limited number available consider a refund and switching to another watch or brand.

A Versa 3 [still available in the shops] with SimpleClockPro or similar will give you what you need, and besides has features not found on the Versa 4.

Fitbit have a 45 day refund policy or possibly authorised dealers too, some stores provide 14 to 30 day refunds.
