My experience with Versa 4

So I upgraded from  the 2 to Versa 4.  I've had it since they released the 4, and it's never tracked my sleep properly, it won't do the weather and now it's not syncing on its own to update the date and time.  It's also resetting how many steps I take.  It says I didn't take ANY steps on Sunday!  I work in a hospital and walk at minimum 5000 steps each day.  I'm very disappointed.  Seriously considering moving to an Apple Watch.

Hi there, @Ejfields. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issues with your Versa 4. I understand how you must be feeling.

To solve pretty much all the issues you're having, please try the steps below:

  • Unpair your Versa 4 from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Versa 4.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 4.
  • Once your Versa 4 is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Versa 4 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

As for the sleep data, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Just get a regular watch...they are so much simpler.  My wife bought one of these things...it only tells me things I already know.  When I take a walk...it will buzz and tell me I'm taking a walk, but I already know this because I'm taking a walk.  This is the most annoying watch I've ever had.
