I was so excited to purchase a Versa 4, I obviously should have done more research on the watch before hand. I am very disappointed. I loved my old versa, so I didn't think I would need to research and just trusted the brand.
I just simply want to control music on my phone. Other Third Party apps would be great as well. Is there ever a possibility that these would be added through an update, or should I just return the watch?
Also, if you would like to suggest a watch to replace this with that actually has basic smart watch capabilities would be great!

Hello @EmmiAnt and welcome to the Community. The Versa 4 won't be getting third party apps. I've seen a few posts where users said they got YouTube Music Controls in a new firmware update. So new that there is no announcement, yet. But this will only control YouTube Music. It won't control any other music app on your phone.
I can't help you with a suggestion for a different device.

I too went from a Versa 2 to a Versa 4 expecting third party apps (some I had paid for) to be available, esp the ability to control my own music. But once the Google watch was released everything fun about the Versa was stripped away. I won't be buying another Fitbit from greedy Google again, that's for sure. I have a Pixel phone but once that dies, I'm done.
