I am looking to replace my Fitbit Versa 4 since it's gone haywire in recording my elevation gains/floors. The same thing happened about 6 months ago (recording about triple the actual number of floors climbed), but it was still under warranty and Fitbit replaced it.
The only features that I really care about are # of steps, distance, elevation, sleep tracking, and battery life. I don't mind charging every day if it can be accomplished while I shower, dress, etc. I'd rather not have to leave the watch on the charger for an hour or more. Naturally, I would prefer longer battery life if possible.
I also don't want a huge watch - something around 40 mm would be good.
Since I'm looking to upgrade, I'd like something with fall detection too.
My phone is a Samsung S23 Ultra.

Hi @mbilli - as you have noticed floors is something that can break easily, however as that indication is not used in any calculations it's only of informative value, and annoying with ridiculous figures.
One solution is to just ignore it, unless you need it for some special reason, bearing in mind it is already not that accurate for measuring floors, as it depends what you do and how you do it.
There are other brands, generally larger, but most require frequent charging, though there are some which can for weeks without charging.
If your watch is performing well otherwise changing brand can be a significant expense for little payoff unless there is something you specially need.

Hi @mbilli No Fitbit model has fall detection. This feature is available in a Pixel Watch and a Samsung Watch, but not a Fitbit.

@mbilli the only devices in the Fitbit ecosystem that have fall detection are the Google Pixel Watches. These are smartwatches, with a lot of other features too.
They are available in 41 and 45 mm sizes. The Pixel Watch 4 will be available on Oct 9. Pixel Watch 3 was last year's model and is still available.
Google says that the smaller Pixel Watch 3 charges from 0 to 100% in an hour. Of course, you wouldn't let your battery drain to 0%, so it wouldn't take that long. Charging for the Pixel Watch 4 is supposed to be 25% faster, but it's not released yet so I don't know. I have a Pixel Watch 3. I pop it in the charger for about 30 minutes in the morning while I'm getting ready and it's been fine.
