Stealth Sale

Fitbit had an email offer that cut the price on both the sense and versa 4 this week. If you are a previous fitbit owner they reached out via email to entice you to upgrade. A friend got the Versa this week and is trying it out. My friend just wants a tracker and doesn't care about third party apps. Apparently these watches aren't selling like hot cakes.

Not all previous owners, otherwise we all would have received the same email.

How did you make the leap from sending out discount codes to products not selling? Companies send out discounts to entice new customers or bring back old customers.

Just a guess and every previous Versa owner I know got the email including me.

I have the Blaze, Versa 1, Versa 2, Versa 3, and didn't get the mail.

Same here. Minus the Versa 3, never liked haptic buttons.

Who knows what companies do with sales promotions? I don’t doubt @datalore at all, but it is a poser.

Putting on my security hat, it could be an elaborate phishing scam. Every company has an inherent risk to being hacked. As I recall Fitbit had 2M user account info stolen around 2016. Not saying it happened again, but it is strange.

Scam was also my first thought, but I did get the notice. A friend ordered and got that price.

Thanks mate.

For future posts with images I suggest blurring out the discount code and order number. Too many bad actors out there these days.

Yeah, thank you for the reminder. A momentary lapse of reason to paraphrase Pink Floyd.

They are OVERLOADED with Returns.

@bkushner based on what? No numbers regarding returns have been released.

You cannot project issues people have just from this forum. Folks only come here when things don’t work and they are ticked off. 11M units sold last year. This forum has ~175 posts so far. We don’t know how many Versa 4’s have been sold but may once they have their next earnings report.
