I have a Versa 2 and it is very useful but it limits me to Alexa as an assistant. I know that the Versa 3 can support Google Assistant. Can the Versa 4?

It seem that people are getting conflicting information. Some people are told by customer service that Google Assistant is NOT included. Other people are told it is.

Hi @LissaxKristine - you are correct, it is confusing, but when chatting the person can easily mistake your watch as the one you are talking about, or get misinformed.
The only way to know for sure is when samples are actually available.
But as Google Assistant is not included in the specs or the manual it is probable that the Sense 2 and Versa 4 don't have it.

I have a Luxe which wasn't mentioned at all and doesn't have Google Assistant OR Alexa. The only watch mentioned was the Versa 4. Unfortunately, I'm not the only one who has gotten this information.
And even when the devices are shipped out, "coming soon" is vague. By the time we get official confirmation if these representatives are telling the truth or not, we're going to be stuck with devices that we cannot return. And, frankly, I don't want to wait to find out and miss out on the free band with my preorder. (I had some issues with the band irritating my skin during the summer when I had the Versa 2, so I'm going to get the sports band regardless)

@LissaxKristine You could wait till Costco has it and puts it on sale? They usually sell Fitbits as a bundle with an extra band. And Holiday sales are coming quick.

@LissaxKristine- the other option, there is a 45 day refund from Fitbit, or 30 days from many stores.
In checking with customer support they said it had it, checked and pointed here, then ended the chat.
How do I use a voice assistant on my Fitbit smartwatch?
This link is thoroughly misleading but click the first option and only Sense and Versa 3 have it, although the Sense 2 is mentioned at the top level.

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.
Thanks for your interest in our new Versa 4. Let me share currently there are no plans to deploy Google Assistant on Sense 2 or Versa 4. I understand how much you'd like to have this feature available and we look forward to bringing this feature to future devices. For more information about how to use Alexa, let me recommend this help article.
Your feedback is appreciated and we'll keep working to improve the Fitbit experience.

@LissaxKristine- the choice is between, nothing or Alexa.

Or maybe they want to support Bixby 🤣

Is it because of Pixel Watch that fitbit watch can no longer support Google Assistant? Thanks.

hi @asiayeah - that is one supposition about Pixel that seems highly unlikely, given that the original Sense and Versa 3 already have Google Assistant.
What is more likely is that they are using a new firmware and development platform and the new team started from scratch for some reason.
Many of the features that existed before are absent or not working properly and the navigation has changed, in short they reinvented the wheel. Why, is a mystery.

@Guy_ True. But given the current state of Fitbit transition to WearOS, it doesn't make much sense for fitbit engineers to reinvent the wheel.
I do hope it's the latter case. If so, it's technically solvable. But if it's the former case, even though the tech is ready, they simply won't do it.

Google assistant is coming in the new update in 2023. Google has only just taken over Fitbit and after the versa 4 was made, therefore they need to make a huge update. But research says 2023

@Gcc0106 Google hasn't just taken over and the Versa 4 wasn't made before Google took over. Google took over nearly 2 years ago. You think Fitbit was sitting on the just released Versa 4 all that time?

That screenshot was from the setup screen for the Sense 2
