Switch from Fitbit to Google Acciunt

I signed up with fitbit using my email address which is NOT a GMAIL account. Now I am told that I have to switch over. So I start the process and when it tells me to select my account, I select the ONLY gmail account I have. I am told that this account already has a fitbit account associated with it. I don't recall doing this.,

So am I OK? Do I already have my fitbit account associated with my gmail account (it's the only fitbit account I have and it's the only gmail account I have - so what else could it be?"

If not, now what? Do I have to create a fictitious gmail account just for fitbit? Does this change my login? Do I lose my history?

All I know is that I can't follow the instructions because the application won't allow it.

You can create another gmail account - just think about the name and password you want to remember for your fitbit/google account.  There is no problem having several gmail accts, other than keeping track of what they are for.
