The exercise app on my Versa 4 keeps crashing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When choosing the exercise option, after about a 2 second delay - in which the exercise logo comes up on the display - the Versa4 returns to the options screen. All other features (Settings, weather, etc.) work as intended. I have tried soft and hard reset with no luck.

Any ideas how to get this feature back?

Hi @Scand - what are the actions that distinguish between a soft and hard reset? Need to know what actual troubleshooting you already performed in order to suggest next step which may be a factory reset.

For soft reset I Shut the device down through the settings menu.
What I called a hard reset was disconnecting and reconnecting the Versa
from my account to see if it had any impact. (I probably used the wrong
terminology for that action)
I also made sure I was running the most up to date SW version.

@Scand - restarting the watch via shutdown loses any activities not already synced but restarting via the button normally keeps the data.

Running the setup sometimes helps but it would seem you need to do a factory reset (not without risk).

As you can get to watch Settings, About Versa 4 menu you can do it, but sync first. Wait 5 minutes for it to complete the setup your way h as a replacement. That should fix your exercise problem.

Factory reset fixed the issue.
Thank you.

Hi there, @Scand. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm glad to hear that you managed to solve the issue with the exercise app on your Versa 4 after following @Guy_'s advice.

For future references, please take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account, your applications, alarms, etc.

Also, keep in mind that most Fitbit devices store up to 7 days of detailed minute-by-minute data. If you wait longer than 7 days before syncing, you may only see the most recent week's detailed data. Summary data (calories, distance, steps, and floors) will be stored for 30 days. Nevertheless, if your Fitbit device was unpaired from your Fitbit account during this period of time, neither the 7 days can be recovered or restored.

In case you have some spare time, I would like to invite you to visit our Health & Wellness where you will find great tips and encouragement from other members.

Happy stepping!
