Hi,
My teen is unable to set up their Versa 4 as it only offers him children’s Fitbits when he tries to link his phone to his device. He’s 14 and old enough for a Fitbit. What’s your advice please?

Hello @Vix_Lat and welcome to the Community. Do you use Google Family Link? If so, it seems that there is this unintended consequence for those families who want to have the Family Link protections for a older child. Moderators have said that you son needs his own unsupervised Google account. An other parent said that you need to wait 24 hours after setting up an unsupervised account to set up the Versa 4.

Thanks for your help. I tried for ages to change the permissions on my son’s supervised family account. I ended up resorting to setting up a new gmail account for my son and setting up a Fitbit account with that. He’s old enough at 14 so now he can atleast use the Versa properly. Shame though to have to go to these measures.
Claire, that won’t help you unfortunately but I’ve spoken to my son about not making friends or linking with people he doesn’t know. It’s something I’ll have to monitor I guess. Not ideal.
