I plan a trip to Tokyo Japan. I watched Youtube videos about the use of contactless IC cards to ride the train, subway and bus system. I initially installed a SUICA card on my Apple Watch series 3 but was not happy with the response time for contactless payments. Figuring a better solution would be to purchase a Japan model of a smart device would work better so I ordered one.
I have an Amazon Japan account so I purchased a Fitbit Versa 4 and had it sent to me there in the USA. I am trying to add SUICA from the transit options but there are no IC card options from Japan in the Google Wallet app. Every post about SUICA and FITBIT ends up with a statement it only worked with Japan sold models. I have a Japan sold model but can't get this to work.
Would it start to work if I was physically located in Japan.
