I tracked my step counts in a separate habit tracker app and on 1.1.24 I did 10,797 steps (which I recorded before bed from my Fitbit watch before I took it off - I don’t sleep with my versa 4 on). Later this week I noticed my step count for 1.1.24 is now doubled to 21,597 in my Fitbit app. Knowing what I did on New Year’s Day this is impossible! The rest of the week is correct. How do I fix the step count for 1.1.24?

Hi there, @Chel2103. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the inconvenience with your step count on January 1st. I understand where your concern is coming from, I'll be glad to help you figure out what might happen.
As a first approach, may I know if have another app connected to your Fitbit account that will add more steps? Mobiletrack maybe? Low-power step sensors inside your phone track your steps and send the data to the Fitbit app. We recommend using MobileTrack if you forget your Fitbit device at home.
Note that adding more than one Fitbit device to your account gives you the convenience of switching between devices while still seeing a holistic view of your daily activity on your dashboard.
For additional information, see Does the wrist I wear my device on affect the accuracy? and What can I do if my step count seems inaccurate?
Lastly, please note that you can negate the extra steps in the Fitbit app. For more information, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?

The only app that’s connected is myFitnessPal. This isn’t a case of thinking it’s counting more/less than it should. I manually wrote down the # of steps at night based on my versa 4 reading. The next day though it was DOUBLED in my Fitbit account which is impossible considering it was stationary on my nightstand all night.
it sounds like I can DELETE the step count for that day, but then it will show as 0? How do I get it to show the correct amount that I recorded to keep my steps true?
