Versa 2 vs Versa 4 or Sense 2

Currently, I have Versa 2, I'm evaluating moving to Versa 4 or Sense 2, but I'm not sure to have understood what I'll have in addition to the function that I already have on Versa 2.

There are significant improvements? I'm satisfied with Versa 2 but I'm ready for an upgrade if I will have more features to use it.

Someone can help me?

Hello @Shinji76

Hopefully I can help. The new Versa 4 and Versa 2 will have all the same features except the Versa 4 will include these new features:

1. Versa 4 will have a high & low heart rate notifications. So If resting heart rate is above or below your usual range, you get notified in the Fitbit app.

2. Versa 4 will have on wrist Bluetooth calls. Basically Answer calls on your wrist, send callers to voicemail and adjust volume (when your phone is nearby).

3. Versa 4 will also have Google Maps.  Easily get where you're going with an interactive view and turn-by-turn directions on your wrist.

4. Versa 4 will also have Google Wallet to make
purchases from your wrist with Google Wallet. But also still have Fitbit pay as well just like Versa 2

5. Lastly Versa 4 will have faster charging capabilities. You can get a day's worth of battery in just 12 minutes.

😉 That is what I found doing a side by side comparison. I hope this provides you with an answer to your question.

Hello @Shinji76 and welcome to the Community.  You also asked about the Sense 2, so here is additional information.

  • The Sense 2 has hardware that isn't available in the Versa 4.  It has the ECG app, which can record a 30 second ECG.  This isn't available in all countries.
  • The Sense 2 expands Fitbit's stress management features.  The Sense has the EDA (electrodermal activity) app, a stress response feature.  It uses the same principle as the stress response used when people take a polygraph.  The Sense 2 has a cEDA (continuous EDA) feature for all day stress response.  Uses more battery.
  • Both the Sense 2 and Versa 4 have 40 exercise shortcuts on the Exercise app.
  • Both the Sense and Versa 4 will have the option for built in or connected GPS.
  • The Sense 2 also has all the other features listed for the Versa 4.

Hi @Shinji76 - you should also compare what you get with the Versa 2, which is

  • Accurate heart rate
  • Decent vibrations (for notifications etc )
  • Accurate floor count
  • Charging without problems
  • Offline GPS (for mapping using phone GPS and battery, prolonging watch battery)

How this will be on a Versa 4 or Sense 2 is not known as there have been no reviews done yet.

Thanks to all for clarification! I believe that I'll go to reserve a new one also if I'm really satisfied with my Versa 2!

Great summary of what Versa 4 adds, but what about what is lost from a Versa 2? Had I known this prior, I wouldn't have made the purchase:

I loved my Versa 2 - only replaced it because the battery would no longer last the day. Had been considering a Versa 3 but waited for the Versa 4 to get the Graphite Aluminum edging that was similar to the Carbon Aluminum edging on the Versa 2, Versa 3 didn't offer these edging options. Never in my wildest dreams did I think to confirm I would be able to continue to:
1. Download third-party apps that I used daily on my Versa 2 such as (a) Starbucks, (2) Flashlight, (3) Agenda, (4) Number, (5) Find Phone -- which Fitbit says is on the Versa 4 but nowhere I can find. No third-party apps on Versa 4.

2. Select which phone apps I wanted to receive notifications from on my watch, such as (1) Medisafe, (2) Messages, (3) Zoom, along with the Versa 2 standards: (a) calls, (b) text messages (which I selected WhatsApp, because the option was available to choose), and (c) emails, along with the ability to customize quick replies directly from my watch. These features no longer exist on Versa 4.

3. Connect my watch to my earbuds and play music. There is NO MUSIC in any capacity on the Versa 4. No iTunes download, no Spotify, on Dreezer.

I agree with the poster above who mentioned they believe this is an intentional move on the part of Google. It seems they acquired Fitbit to gain ownership of the select Intellectual Property for their own new Pixel line and purchase customer lists/order histories, while constraining investment in the future of Fitbit. I also agree with several prior posters who said it's false advertising to refer to the Versa 4 as a smartwatch; it IS a FITNESS TRACKER.

And wait, there's more! I'm also disappointed that the Versa 4 does not allow the owner to remove preloaded apps either. Huh? Nope, I don't want Alexa on my watch, nor Fitbit Pay, but surprise! Nope, it's going to clutter up your watch whether you like it or not.

Overall, incredibly disappointed and will be returned.
