Versa 4 - GPS

My GPS is all wonky when I walk the nature trails where I live.   I have a Versa 4 and my phone is an S23Fe.  It worked before but now all of a sudden it doesn't.   I'm just wondering why and what I could do to fix this...thanks!!!

Hello @MichMickle you mention nature trails

• Do you manually start the walk recording, or let the Versa 4 decide. 
• I'm not sure what type of wonky you are seeing 
• Are you saying that you have no GPS recording
• Does the GPS only act up on the nature trails. 
• Are these trails in heavily wooded areas 
• Mentioning the phone, is the GPS on your Versa 4 set to use its built in GPS or set to use the Phones GPS? 
• By wonky, are you see in straight lines in the recorded path. 
• Or are you seeing that your recorded path is not lined up with where you walked. 
• Or does the GPS recording end before the walk ends. 
• Maybe the GPS recording doesn't start at the time the walk starts. 

Both issues are GPS issues. 

• Straight lines seen on the map are from the Watch loosing a GPS lock. 
• If the recorded path shifts from you actual path. It is usually from walking near a woods line or tall building. This causes a delay in the signal from 2 or more

It records but definitely not the same path as I walk.   The trail is definitely through wooded areas it's in a valley as well but it used to work just fine all the time now it's a very weird line not even really close to where I'm actually walking lol.  I have attached a picture of what it does.

• When you say that the line is not even close. Are you referring to the straight or squiggly? 
• Since you walked 1 hour 20 minutes, I assume that the gps stopped recording. 
• Is the Versa 4 using the built in gps or the phone gps? Have you tried both ways?

This is what it should look like and I'm not sure which GPS it uses I have my phone on me when I walk as well as the GPS on my Fitbit turned on.  The walk is about an hour and 20 minutes to an hour and 30 minutes so I don't think it turned off.
