Versa 4 - To pay, double press on the left side - notifications

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I bought my Versa 4 in December and has been working great up until about a week ago when I started getting the "To pay, double press on the left side ..." notification every 60- 90 seconds.  It is driving me crazy and I have to take it off for hours (the notifications continue when I'm not wearing it) especially at night as the screen lights up with every notification.

They seem to come in waves of about 12/15 notifications in a row, then go silent for a while. Then it goes at it again an hour or so later. I tried setting up Google Pay but that doesn't work. I tried restarting the device (nope) and looked to see if I could at least turn the notification off but nothing helps.

Any help would be hugely welcome.

I don't have the exact answer but maybe I can point you in the right direction.  There are button-press shortcuts you can set up in Settings.  I think there is a shortcut for long press, and another for double press.  I expect you have set up double-press shortcut to go to Fitbit Pay but maybe don't have Fitbit Pay set up.  I would suggest going into Settings and changing the double-press shortcut to take you to something else you commonly use, or you can even have it do nothing.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thanks JohnnyRow - Gave that a try with no luck. The more I think about it the more it seems like a education notice vs an action notification. Either way the notifications continue even with Do Not Disturb on.

Hi @BiblioSiren - just in case this is an app or syncing problem, try logout of the Fitbit App and swipe off the active window and in Android clear the storage cache and force stop it then restart the phone, and watch again.

Login again and wait for any pair and link prompts and sync.

Same issue. There is no setting for double-press, only long press. Fitbit support had us change that a bunch of times. We don’t want to pay for anything using the watch, nor to use Google Pay at all (the phone’s Apple Pay is good for us, thanks).

Hello @BiblioSiren and @HtV_ , and whoever was experiencing this problem, there is not a way to physically shut down the reminders for the double tap. It automatically pops up. Sometimes in cases like mine it eventually stops showing the pop ups.

Was there ever a solve for this? It is happening to me as well - often enough that I’m just not wearing the watch.

tried factory resetting, adjusting notifications etc and nothing works

This has just started happening to me today. Had my versa 4 for 3 months and this has just started..There surely has to be a solution for this..Anyone found it yet????

I haven't found  permanent solution yet. I find if you set it to sleep mode that the double tap notification doesn't happen as often but then you also lose access to all.the other notifications you may actually want so not ideal but does allows me to continue to actually be able to wear it.

Same problem. Tried several different things - nothing works. Quality and customer service have diminished quite a bit since Google bought the company. The Versa 4 seems to be a bit of a dud.

I'm having the exact same problem. I've tried all the solutions that customer support suggested but nothing works. I've explained that this is a software issue and not the users fault. I suggested that for a quick fix they could just allow us to disable the vibration. Seems like it should be easy to fix but I think we're being ignored.

I just bought a Sense 4 this week and this has been happening since I've opened it. It's driving me crazy and I'm tempted to return it.
