I've just upgraded to a Versa 4 and have chosen "Outdoor Workout" to log my Military Fitness session.
The steps are included in my daily total but the distance is not. Today's totals are therefore 1.5 miles short.
Is there any way to record my workout?

There's something weirdly undocumented about "outdoor workout" that you just jogged my memory about when that category was first added. I vaguely remember that distance doesn't count in daily total, being assumed it would be for something like boating or other such activity where might want to map distance, but distance was not really comparable to walking or running or some activity on foot. I don't know if you can change workout type now to get the distance, but then might double-dip on steps. Might just have to live-and-learn not to use that again. "Workout" is generally good option whenever not sure what to choose. Sorry.

@Uncle_John Outdoor Workout is designed for non-step based activities like kayaking and downhill skiing. Fitbit only includes step based distance in your daily totals. Outdoor workout gets treated like Bike and Swim. These distances don't get added either. The Charge 4 shows a figure in a kayak, but all later Fitbits have the wrong icon. The Versa 4 has an expanded exercise shortcut list. can try other shortcuts like Bootcamp or Circuit Training to see if other workouts meet your perceived exertion. Workout is the catchall for older devices with the limited shortcut list.
I don't think you will get your distance by renaming it. That changes the name, but not the how the shortcut reports data. I think you will get your distance if you delete the exercise. You lose the details and the check mark for the day of exercise.

Who would have realistically deduced that outdoor exercise would be exercises not involving steps. To me my first thought was this will be perfect for all my functional workouts outdoors like raking leaves, all kinds of back yard sporting games, mowing lawns with a gas push mower with nothing electric or automatic about it and it is truly my most grueling workouts in the summer and yes it's one of those mowers killing the planet but again best workout pushing this thing up hill(which incidentally my Versa 4 was timing an outdoor workout that I started before reading this post when doing yardwork and when I started mowing it stopped recording my outdoor workout by the time I finished I checked the time before starting the mowing was still timing and at the end was showing the clock face and to stop a workout you need to press end > scroll down and hit done so can't accidently have stopped it. but when I synched my versa 4 it showed my mowing time was overwritten by a workout being picked up for over 20 min and called it outdoor bike for 48 minutes the time it took to mow the lawn. The next day I did the front lawn and did not start any workouts since I assumed it would pick it up again as outdoor bike since it was for around 50 minutes but it did not pick it up. So frustrating. Use to use WORKOUT last year with Versa 2 to time the mowing and everything that didn't fit the 20s Blows my mine that I won't be able to use it for snowshoeing this winter was so happy about that before this reality check post. List from Versa 2 to Versa 4 went up to 40 from 20 but still no snowshoeing. Thank you Fitbit community for this little venting opportunity. LOL. Thanks for this useful info LZeeW
