I have now lost 2 watches as the band has come off in the surf. Does Fitbit have a band which stays on in the surf?

@SurfHelp I think, I've found a solution that let's you enjoy your new Versa 4 without having to have worries to again lose your device while surfing:
Spigen Fitbit Sense 2 / Versa 4 Case Rugged Armor Pro
So you can have both: A rugged Versa 4 for usage under rough conditions and a sleek Versa 4 for everyday use.

@SurfHelp Welcome to the Fitbit community!
Sad to hear that you're having trouble with your Versa 4. Are you using genuine bands mad by Fitbit or third party bands?

Hi there, @SurfHelp. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 4.
I was wondering the same as @Talahthas. Are they Fitbit bands or third party ones?
To make sure you've attached the band correctly, please press it into the end of the watch until you feel it snap into place.
If you have trouble attaching the wristband or if it feels loose, gently move the wristband back and forth to make sure it's attached to the watch. For more information, see How do I wear my Fitbit device?

Hi
Yes have always used genuine bands and because I lost one watch previously in the surf I have always been careful when entering the water to check it is properly attached including how it is attached to the watch.
I question if the Fitbit is suitable for the powerful surf conditions we have here in Australia? Should you develop an even more secure band - happy to pay extra for this. Or at least put warning on purchases?
Thanks

@SurfHelp In that case I'd suggest contacting Fitbit support to check available options:

@SurfHelpThe way Fitbit has implemented their mechanism for band attachment and quick release is clever and elegant. But, as you've already mentioned, it may be a little bit too delicate for surfing under rough conditions.
The Versa 2 uses traditional pin-based quick release straps that are much tougher because of their construction. Also it doesn't have a speaker and thus one less possibility for water getting inside under rough conditions. Maybe that would be an alternative to stay with the Fitbit platform using a device that's more suited for your preferred sports?

Thanks but have gone an bought another Versa 4 already. Hoping Fitbit will improve design in the near future.

@SurfHelpI've just swapped bands on my Versa 4 and had a closer look at the flaps that hold the straps in place. Maybe you should wear your Versa 4 one notch tighter while surfing to prevent your device from moving and thus those flaps from opening by rubbing on your wrist?
