Versa 4 battery draining

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have my versa 4 nearly 2 years. I use to charge it once a week, now its every 3 days if not 2. Battery is draining very fast and it takes awhile to charge. Its not the charger as my partners fitbit charges fine. Iv tried resetting etc but do you think its just on the way out? Once it hits 14/10% it turns off

Hi @PeachAj - that is quite strange, although the battery display is often erroneous. Be sure to swipe the watch face down to get to Quick Settings to check the actual battery level, or use a clock face that shows it. Especially before charging as you may notice the level jumps the moment you charge it.

Sudden changes such as you experience may be indication of a fault, such as internal damage from water possibly, especially if worn when showering.

There are several steps to track down the cause which may tie in with a firmware update, or environmental activity [something done differently or more often].

  • Check your Quick Settings have all icons off.
  • Change to another clock face.
  • During exercises make sure the GPS is off, as this uses lots of battery
  • Logout of the Fitbit App or turn off Bluetooth [to stop excessive syncing which can also drain the battery]
  • See Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

A longer term test is to turn on sleep and disable Bluetooth and see how long the battery lasts in the dormant state, only sync once per day.

Eventually factory reset it but it is unlikely to resolve it and is fraught with issues to recover if it works.

Mine is doing the same thing. Worked beautifully for about 2 years. I could even go on vacation and not bring my charger and not worry. Even went to Mexico in January. Battery life was still consistent. In the last week, I lose 20% over the course of a few hours- but it feels like it wasn't gradual at all, like you'd expect from an item that has normal wear and tear. I did see somewhere online that there was an update that rolled out in Dec and was causing battery life issues, but then could not find that post anywhere and I had forgotten to save it.

Also, a new thing it started doing with the battery draining- If I want to exercise, and  record it- as soon as I'm done and hit "end exercise", the screen goes black and stays black, like the watch is totally dead. I'll plug in and it will show 45% immediately in the phone app, but It won't show my exercise at all, and will turn on just fine a few minutes later.

Was thinking that google knows there are a lot of faithful fitbit users who would be upset if they killed fitbit overnight. I've had one since the berry beginning, when they were a little rubber bracelet.

My Fitbit Versa 4 started to act exactly the same during the day but on top off that, it started to switch off during the night. When I check the battery level on my phone, the battery is not empty and it gets confirmed when I want to charge it.

I already restarted my versa several times, changed the clock face, switched to manual screen awakening and even did a factory reset.

Nothing seems to have a positive outcome.

Any suggestions?
