versa 4 shows date of December 31, 1999

ANSWERED

My versa 4 is showing December 31,1999 and says "sync from the fitbit mobile app".  I cannot hard reset or sync.

They'll work on a solution afterwards.  Hopefully this gets solved soon. 
I'll update the thread as soon as I receive further information.

@1999-12-31 , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message. 
Normally the Versa 4 should overtake the info from the last device it was synced with.

 i have the same problem. Will give the 4 digit then restart so cannot complete the sync. Have tried all the restarts, uninstalled app data, cache and app, restarted and reinstalled and same. This thing hasn't worked right since mitigating from the fitbit account to Google

@Toyotafj80 A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message, efforts and the picture shared. 

If you haven' t done so yet,please try the following: 

Please make sure that no other Bluetooth device is connected to or near your phone or nearby. (Headphones, keyboards, etc.)

Please follow these steps. You may have already done some of them, but the order is important:

  • Restart your Versa 4
  • On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and remove all connections to the tracker. (Forget, ignore, or unpair the device, depending on your phone's operating system version.)
  • Turn off Bluetooth and restart your phone (turn it off and then back on).
  • Once your phone is back on, turn Bluetooth back on, but DO NOT try to connect to the tracker from here.
  • Open the app. From there, try setting up the tracker as a new device.

I got this Versa 4 as a Christmas gift and it got stuck in the screen I’m showing here. I tried restarting it numerous times but it just doesn’t work.

That won't work, I'm stuck on that screen and can't get anywhere else.  I've tried shutting it off and back on which is the only thing I can do and uninstalling clearing cache and reinstalling nothing works.

Also when I tried to readd the versa to the app, it keeps saying there's an error and sends code after code tries to install for a few minutes and boom error again.  My watch died a few days ago and I've been sick so just got around to charging it, it was originally 2000,01,01(had to change to commas because 000101 with dashes isn't allowed?) held the power to turn it off and back on and it changed to 1999,12,31, (same as above, weird its not allowing a date, i get the zeros and ones for coding, but not this) can't help but say its Y2K! Lol when all the computers software was set to a specific date system and they were sure it was going to crash or go backwards in date history lol because it wasn't set to switch over or account for a year in the 2000s.

Hey Juan,

I get that you are looking into it, but what am I supposed to do now going on two weeks without my watch working?  With my job, this is quite literally the only way I can stay notified on communications and texts because I can't have my phone in hand at all times.
