Skip this if you would like, I just have to vent somewhere. Starting off that it was my own dumb fault for breaking my Versa 4. I accidentally dropped it, although only 20cms high at most.
I'm just so mortified and saddened. I got it as Christmas gift 6 or 7 days ago (early gift, I was going to buy a watch and my mum had already gotten me one for Xmas, so she told me early) and I've already cracked the **ahem** thing. In 20 years of owning devices I have never cracked a screen on anything, not even a scratch. Im just genuinely baffled how easy it was to crack the screen on a supposed fitness tracker. Why design like this?
From what I can gather you can't even buy replacement glass, I've found aftermarket LCDs, that's about it.
I just can't believe it. This has to be a financial choice to make fitness watches this delicate.
Serves me right for not waiting to use my screen case I ordered, it's still a few days away.
Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhh FML
Again, I know I'm stupid for dropping it but I can't see how I could ever buy anything Fitbit again after this experience. If I dropped it a few metres high then fair enough, but it was the height of my car door, I was holding my watch and went to get my wet shoes and it fell literally fifteen to twenty cms at max at no speed and it cracked... 😢 😢
Anyways sorry for the whinge I'm just depressed looking at this thing, I think it'll just end up in the bin so I can try and forget that I managed to break a gift from my mum in less than a week. I was thinking about buying a new one in the same colour so she wouldn't know but I'm sure it'll just break by just existing

Is it possible to get replacement glass for the versa 4 without having to get an entire LCD screen? In 20 years, I have never ever ever even scratched a screen, let alone cracked one. My watch fell 20cms at most and the corner of the screen has shattered. I've owned the versa 4 for literally one week lol. Just my luck. It's depressing to look at now. Sighhhhh. My screen protector is still being delivered!
I blame myself for sure for the clumsiness but what the heck are these screens made out of??? I feel a fitness wearable should be able to handle some kind of impact? So many regrets. It was a birthday present too! FML

Hi @Nzlr - it's unfortunate as accidents aren't covered by warranty, however if you were wearing it and the strap broke, that may be considered a fault and replaceable or if not your insurance, or possibly credit card insurance may cover the cost of replacing.
