Versa 4 face black

I got my Versa 4 369 days ago (I mention this bc it is just over a year old). I noticed about a month ago that I had to push the button to see messages when it vibrated (it used to pop up automatically when I moved my wrist). I thought this was just something I had inadvertently changed in the settings.

Then a few days ago, I noticed the numbers and text was all yellow. I thought that was weird and planned on changing the screen later that day. When I went to do that, the clock face was black. Nothing came up. It vibrates, when I receive a call or text, when I hit goals, reminders, etc... but the face is completely black. Gone.

I have done all the troubleshooting things I have found (which basically consists of holding the button down for 15+ seconds or hold the button down for 15+ sec while it is charging). I have done this multiple times and it is still black.

I can't change the clock face from my computer and my app won't even log me back in after I reset the password. I'm in a real quandry! I hope someone can help!!

Hi @cmahan - try resetting the password again to regain access to the Fitbit App.

It's necessary to see if the watch is still syncing firstly and to change clock face if it is.

If you don't see the logo at at any point when holding the button for a full 10 seconds it is liable to have a fault.

Even so let the battery run out completely and then charge fully, making sure it doesn't get hot, and if so stop immediately.

On the off chance it just needs charging try a quick charge for less than 5 minutes and follow with a 10 seconds button press.

If you charge longer you have to wait weeks for it to fully discharge in its own.

Conversely if it is not charging at all which can also be an issue see instructions in How to check charge cable - Sense 2/Versa 4 won't charge, won't start or blank screen

If nothing works check your warranty from the credit card, they may supply more.

Thanks! I reset the password, that worked. It is still syncing and the charger is charging (according to the app when I sync). Changed clock face, still black. Held button for 10 (tried up to 30 sec), I get one short vibrate, but no logo and no further vibrates.

I will let the battery run out completely before I plug it in again. Fingers crossed!
